Chateaux, grand "castles" built by kings in the late 15th and early 16th centuries, are scattered throughout this region. Chateau De Chenonceau arches gracefully over the Cher River, a 15 minute drive from our base in Amboise. The fresh flower arrangements inside the castle are replaced twice a week, and the gardens are impecably maintained.
