One hour southwest of Paris on the 190 mile/hour hi-speed train is this inviting town on the widest stretch of the Loire River. Our rental has everything we need, including a well-eqipped kitchen where last night we prepared pasta with fresh local goat cheese, green beans and chantrelle mushrooms.
Eglise St Denis (Church of St. Denis), dates back to the 12th century
Chateau Royal D'Amboise, in the background, dominates the highest point of the town. We will visit it tomorrow, so more on that later. Today we visited Chateau de Chenonceau, so photos and info on that one will be next.
Hot Air balloon rides are popular here. Doves and pidgeons thrive everywhere.
