RAROTONGA, COOK ISLANDS, ISLAND PART 1

Not in the South Pacific yet. Selfie at the Manhattan Beach pier in LA prior to our departure from LAX

Sunrise over the South Pacific on the final approach to Rarotonga International Airport

Landing shots of the island towards the south and southeast during landing

Rarotonga International airport, officially commissioned by the Queen in 1974. Original runway at this site was built by American troops during World War II

Sea Change Villas, a wonderful place to stay. We were upgraded to a beach villa for 3 nights, and an executive villa for 2 nights
Southern view from our beach villa

My guess is that the list of potential appointees to be the Queen's Representative in Rarotonga is quite long

Private pool at our beach villa

Grocery shopping in Rarotonga. We cooked most nights, enjoying fresh fish, local vegies and fruits.

There are always resident Geckos when staying in the tropical South Pacific

Mahine's tye dye shop, right outside her home, and close to our villa. Linda took her free lesson, and we purchased great souvenirs.
