By popular demand, and after a star-studded Facebook appearance, I am blogging unique pictures of our first Calliope female hummingbird sighting, probably nesting nearby and getting plenty of nourishment from our feeders. JIR

YELLOWSTONE IN SPRING
We have visited Yellowstone many times, but never in the spring. A quick 35th wedding anniversary get-away proved to be unforgettable.
Young adult bull elk with new velvet antlers feasts on new green grass by the shores of the Gallatin River
Gibbon Falls
We witnessed this spectacular scene of a wolf eating goose eggs out of a river side nest. We think she is a pregnant female, away from her pack during this time when she would den and have her pups outside the perimeter of the pack's territory..
One of the geese pair, probably the female, was most vociferous in letting the wolf know her anger and displeasure.
Sandhill crane
This bear (grizzly we think based on the "hump") was oblivious to roadside spectators...
...but it managed to look at us as I snapped this shot. "What'd you want?"
